Avoca Borough approves $12,547 worker's comp renewal

PA AVOCA — Avoca Borough Council approves 33 percent increase in worker's compensation insurance costs. The council unanimously renewed its worker's compensation coverage with Encova Insurance at $12,547, marking a 33 percent jump from the prior year's $9,444 quote. Council President Holly Homschek oversaw Thursday's meeting, which also saw unanimous approval of two resolutions establishing life insurance benefits through the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs for elected officials and borough staff.

The council tabled a recommendation to appoint deputy emergency management coordinators pending further information.
